Through ASCA and National Career Development Guidelines (NCDG), a program of testing and counseling has been developed that introduces educational and career planning. This approach examines issues of personal growth, empowerment, and transition as a foundation for development. Interests, attitudes, values and skills are explored as students investigate various academic and occupational requirements and environments with the purpose of formulating an integrated study/career plan.  These problems can be especially severe when the individual exhibits learning disabilities.
