    I enjoy playing a supportive role in someone’s life journey and having the opportunity to help create positive change.

Kimberly Katz, MSW (Candidate 5/2026)

New York University Graduate School Practicum Clinician

 

Kimberly Katz, MSW (Candidate 5/2026), New York University Graduate School Practicum Clinician at Gateway to Solutions, is currently pursuing her Master of Clinical Social Work with a concentration in mental health service delivery, with graduation expected by Spring 2026. Kimberly earned a B.A. in Psychology from Barnard College, Columbia University, and an M.A. in Social-Organizational Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University.

She has a background in social-organizational psychology, which offers expertise in leadership, career development, and workplace well-being, and her additional training in chronic pain & complex illnesses offers a special focus on the intersection of autoimmune diseases with mental health.  She is deeply committed to mental health and remains dedicated to addressing the unique needs of each client.

Kimberly supports individuals of all ages with addressing mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation. In sessions, she takes a holistic and tailored approach to address unique client needs, incorporating evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). 

Her clinical experience includes working with children and adolescents experiencing learning, attentional, and social-emotional challenges at Meister Psychology and the Child Mind Institute’s Summer Treatment Program. During her first year at NYU, she interned at an independent school, where she provided counseling to middle and high school students to support their social, emotional, and academic growth. Kimberly has also volunteered with Crisis Text Line.

Beyond her clinical practice, Kimberly serves as an Emerging Leader Board member at Project Lyme, a nonprofit focused on combating Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses.
