GOAL-ORIENTED PSYCHOTHERAPY, COUPLES THERAPY. CAREER COACHING, MEDIATION, FAMILY PLANNING, AND LGBTQIA+ AFFIRMATIVE THERAPY
Now, for the first time in decades, there is a new choice, a better way to help people live and work well. The power of one. A philosophy and service delivery approach built on a simple premise: it takes a person to help a person. It’s the way GTS enables individuals, couples, families and organizations to prosper and thrive. It’s wellness in a whole new way.
How We Will Support You
Individual therapy can support you in reaching goals or overcoming problems. GTS can help you understand and resolve issues in a confidential, caring and efficient manner. We will help you feel safe and supported while challenging you to grow and move past obstacles.
Figuring out what’s really going on in your relationship should be simple, but it’s not. Problems don’t just suddenly appear — they grow slowly over time, the product of small resentments and miscommunications that grow into a thick web that’s very difficult to untangle on your own. That’s where talking to the right professional can really help.
Family therapy can be a wonderful experience where children and adults blossom. If there is unresolved conflict, hurt feelings, or tension in the household, psychotherapy like family therapy can help.
In group therapy, approximately 6-10 individuals meet face-to-face with a trained group therapist. During the group meeting time, members decide what they want to talk about.
LGBTQ+ Affirmative Therapy
Gateway to Solutions is an LGBTQIA+ affirmative practice that understands and specializes in gender identity, sexual orientation, and minority stress theory. The team at GTS provides a positive, safe space for individuals to work through their challenges.
Marriage is a beautiful milestone in your life. Marriage is when you wholeheartedly connect two lives into one, share what life has to offer, the good and bad, and often have children. Once you are engaged, you’re radiating with positive and happy energy envisioning your life ahead. The last thing you’re thinking of is therapy.
One of the most exciting times in one’s life is becoming a parent. Very few people go throughout life without some thought about what it would be like to raise a child. GTS helps an individual or couple explore what it means to become a parent. We also help understand conventional, adoption and various fertility options to having a child.
Many people have given up seemingly secure banking, government jobs etc and have opted for software jobs, creative jobs and even freelance options. All you need then is a bit of courage; a dash of self-belief and some clarity of thought and you can join the band of people who have successfully changed careers.
Divorce mediation and custody mediation typically consists of several joint meetings between spouses (or partners if you are not married). During those meetings, you and your spouse discuss the issues that need to be resolved in your case. Contact Gateway to Solution’s New York office today to schedule your consultation!

Postpartum Depression or Baby Blues? Understanding the Difference
So many emotions come with giving birth to a child and bringing them home. On television shows, often, the woman experiences an inexplicable pain followed by a flood of happy tears that their little bundle has finally arrived. Many women cite forgetting the pain and just feeling pure bliss. However, people rarely discuss the aftermath of postpartum and the changes the woman’s body endures. Many women struggle with this process and the hormonal changes that come with it.
Understanding Psychosis: Understanding the Mystery Behind Mental Health
Psychosis is often a misunderstood mental health condition associated with damaging stereotypes like "that person's crazy," "they've lost their mind," or "they have no idea what's going on." The stigma around people with psychosis leads to a societal divide, and a lack of understanding towards a population would significantly benefit from compassion. When we demonstrate an understanding of others who have different experiences and sufferings, we can express concern and offer support in addressing mental health most effectively. Psychosis often leads one to experience distorted thoughts and a skewed perception and may demonstrate abnormal behavior. Psychosis includes hallucinations, delusions, catatonia or a frozen appearance, impulsive behavior, ungroomed appearance, and negative symptoms like a lack of interest in activities or emotional expression. Signs of psychosis include difficulty communicating, concentrating, thinking clearly, decreased engagement in school or work, feelings of paranoia and suspicion of others, isolation from their support system, and trouble differentiating fantasy from reality. A common delusion expressed is a persecutory delusion, when people believe they are a target, even when there is clear evidence they are not at risk.
The Four Horsemen: Improving Couples Conflict Communication
Take a few moments to consider your entire family history, returning to the farthest generation you know existed. Envision what it may have been like to live through the experiences of your great-grandparents, grandparents, and parents throughout their lives. In envisioning this, it may become easier for you to understand your relatives better. There is a lot of history, hopefully, both good and bad, that has occurred before you throughout the generations of your family. Just because you were not present for traumatic events that your parents, grandparents, or even great-grandparents went through does not mean they do not impact you. Intergenerational trauma is “the process by which parents with unresolved trauma transmit this to their children via specific interactional patterns, resulting in the effects of trauma being experienced without the original traumatic experience or event.”

What GTS Clients Say About Us!
Antoinette is one of the most wonderful, and amazing women I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with. She is cheery, accountable, and brilliant. She led the therapy space with a presence that never felt overbearing or judgmental, she was always honest with me and inspired a level of accountability within myself and my past that I greatly needed. She cracked jokes where appropriate to lighten the mood, she would tell me personal stories so that I never felt alone with what I was going through. She would even remember the little details that I was sure she'd forget, but never did.
My experience with Gateway to Solutions has been nothing short of exemplary. John has created such a safe environment for me to explore and express my goals and emotions, along with Caroline and Antionette who have been there to support me when needed. I cannot speak highly enough when reflecting back on my journey with this practice.
I have seen several therapists in my lifetime, but after seeing John for over 6 years I can say without a doubt that John and his team are by far the most professional, caring, and knowledgeable people I have ever interacted with!
My experience at Gateway to Solutions has been nothing short of wonderful. Not only has my therapy been incredibly effective and fitting to my particular needs, but the team has been patient, understanding, and kind with me–including when it comes to financial concerns. Christina Bradley is by far the best therapist I've ever worked with, and I have made so much progress under her attentive care and guidance. She has been incredibly adaptive to my unique identity, and her holistic approach to therapy has left me in a better place than I have been in years. I strongly recommend pursuing your mental health journey at GTS!”
John and the entire GTS team has played an integral role in my trauma recovery over the past four years. The road to finding the "right" therapist can be daunting, but from the moment I spoke to John on the phone, I knew I was in good hands. Every person that I have referred (and there have been many!) has had nothing but positive experiences. I am so grateful to have found GTS, I truly don't know where I would be today without them.
