Jamie Downie, LMSW, DBT, CBT, REBT

Jamie has a wealth of experience collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds and is strongly dedicated to empowering clients to achieve their utmost potential. He specializes in aiding individuals across various developmental phases who grapple with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life changes, substance use issues, and the unique stressors in their lives.

His Masters of Social Work was earned at New York University Silver School of Social Work, graduating Summa Cum Laude, with a specific emphasis on substance use treatment and co-occurring disorders.

Jamie’s expertise lies in customizing the therapeutic bond to suit each client by meeting them at their unique starting point. He employs a blend of structured thinking and creativity to foster this personalized approach. Creating an honest, inviting, and reassuring environment, Jamie aims to assist clients in attaining their aspirations.

Jamie adopts an integrative strengths-based method that revolves around the specific needs of his clients. Central to his therapeutic style is the emphasis on the client-therapist relationship, alongside customized interventions tailored to each individual’s objectives and path. His approach amalgamates various modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT), motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy. Continuously dedicated to advancing his clinical practice, Jamie has pursued further training in the following areas:
