Maya Montalto, LMSW
Associate Therapist
If you are feeling overwhelmed, caught in persistent patterns, or struggling to understand and regulate your emotions, therapy can offer a space to slow down, reflect, and begin making sense of your experience. Maya Montalto, LMSW, provides a supportive and grounded therapeutic environment where clients can explore challenges with greater clarity, self-awareness, and confidence.
Maya works with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and identity-related concerns. She supports clients in understanding how earlier experiences may continue to influence present-day thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while helping them develop practical tools to strengthen coping, improve relationships, and increase emotional resilience.
Her clinical approach is collaborative, warm, and insight-oriented, grounded in a humanistic and strengths-based perspective. She integrates evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness, while tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs, values, and goals. Maya’s experience includes working with first responders through the FDNY Counseling Services Unit, supporting individuals coping with trauma exposure, grief, and chronic stress, as well as providing therapy in private practice settings with diverse populations.
Maya believes therapy is most effective when it is relational, respectful, and individualized. She strives to create a space where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported as they work toward meaningful growth and lasting change.
